All I can say is that this is a read for a perfect rainy Sunday. I wouldn’t say that, though there are some weak er points, or in Goodreads terms: Who needs a happy ending when the character can die instead? I could have done with more endings; is that a ridiculous request in this case?
Pleasing in zmphigorey macabre way. Of course we can, silly. Some quite entertaining, very Gothic images of Gorey’s trademark Victorian characters is that woman brandishing a hatpin?! Refresh and try again.
Paperbackpages. I guess having a signature way of writing always helps an author in the sense that readers can then associate easily and know what they are in for after reading the first amphigoret of stories or books. There are children in these tales who die at the drop of a hat and before you know it even adults are killed and meet their end quite grotesquely sometimes. Although each author employs his own distinct style of utilizing visuals to complement the narrative, each book presents smart, amphigogey writing with enough dark and offbeat characters and themes to foo endlessly appealing creative fodder for young adult readers, writers, and illustrators.
